Singer-songwriter Jordi Rosen resides in Montréal, Québec in Canada. She was born in Toronto, Canada.  Jordi started singing at a young age and participated in the school choir, which competed in Canada's Kiwanis Festival.  In her teens she studied piano with her esteemed mentor Mrs. Brain.  Jordi's innate love and open minded approach to music and art was also influenced by her diverse cultural background with Ojibway and Polish-Jewish parents.  After moving to Montreal at age 19 to study at McGill University, Jordi discovered her love of singing and songwriting while playing accordion, jamming with friends Grayson Walker, Bruce Cawdron and Joellen Housego.  It wasn't long before she was performing in various combinations at venues throughout Montreal, Eastern Canada, Toronto and New York.  She has gone on to explore and compose with a variety of instruments including a Casio keyboard, autoharp and most recently the omnichord.

In 2001 Jordi debuted her self-produced CD, Madame Xavier with Rufus Wainwright as guest producer and contributor on selected tracks.  Exclaim! called Madame Xavier "A sweet album of substantial depth exposing Jordi's connection with the stars and beyond…"  That same year Jordi was nominated for a Montreal Independent Music Award (M.I.M.I) as Best Singer/Songwriter and her music began to travel with an abundance of airplay on radio stations across Canada and in Europe, particularly in Portugal, Croatia, Bosnia and France.

Lotus, Jordi's second independent full length record, was released in 2005.  The album features her ethereal vocals and an array of traditional music influences. The songs include powerful string arrangements of Carrie Haber on cello and Joellen Housego on fiddle.  The album was engineered by Gordon Hashimoto, with assistance from contributing musicians Annabelle Chvostek (The Wailin' Jennys) and Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes).

Jordi Rosen has collaborated, performed and toured with a handful of renowned artists including Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Rufus Wainwright.  She has also shared the stage with artists such as Sean Lennon, Penny Lang, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Martha Wainwright,  Hayden, The The, Antony and The Johnsons, Annabelle Chvostek, Bobby Dove,  Jane Gabriels, Will Austin, Chris Burns, The Keys, Lisa Gamble, and Loaded (Velvet Underground Cover Band).  Jordi has performed in several festivals including Suoni Per Il Popolo, NXNE in Toronto and CMJ in New York City.  She has been a feature performer for several benefit events for organizations such as The Gilda Radner Foundation, The Montreal Women's Assault Centre, Head and Hands, Native Centres and The Mile End Mission.

Jordi's long-awaited newest project "The Angels Have Called" has been released online and is available through her website at jordirosen.com, CD Baby and bandcamp.  This heavenly collection of love songs and odes to friendship was recorded and produced in a Motown style by Christian Richer (Kinnta Studios) and Co-Produced by Jordi.  The lovely mix was created by Mix Executive Producer soundboothproductions (Mixed by Iain Booth).  The songs all share Jordi's unique "dream-pop" style with an electronic flair.  Blissful vocal harmonies are mixed with the danceable beats of Jackie Gallant, Martin Landry and producer Richer.  Jordi was co-songwriting with Matt Lipscombe for the Nashville pop-country market, and has been developing her own powerful healing techniques with music and collaborating with artists from Canada and Europe.  She recently did a television appearance on Culture Zone which can be seen April 12th on MAtv!
